Let the journey of teaching science begin!

On the first day of class, Dr. Smirnova had us watch a video about technology in the classroom. The video revealed a lot of information that I was surprised to learn. I thought that this video was a great way to introduce the basis of the class curriculum to us. Our class is going to be centered around teaching science through technology. One fact from the video that I found surprising is the fact that 61% of teachers do not incorporate technology in the classroom. This video is somewhat old, so I would assume that this number has changed since then. However, it is still significant that so many teachers did not use technology. I also realize it is possible that this number is so large because some schools may not have the money to provide technological resources in every classroom. As a teacher, it is important for me to make sure I can use technology to teach my students. Technology is a massive element of our society. Using technology is a skill that everyone needs to acquire in order to excel in our society. Most jobs require the use of technology. Possessing at least some basic knowledge of technology is expected from everyone nowadays. As a teacher of an elementary class, I will do all I can do use technology to help my students learn not only because it will benefit my students but because children genuinely enjoy using technology.
